MOTOR VEHICLES
REGISTRATIONS AT MASTERTON POST OFFICE. DRIVERS’ LICENCES ISSUED TO DATE. Although the total number of motor vehicles registered at the Mastertbn Post Office last licensing year was 3366, besides 180 motor-cycles, to date this year only about 2550 have been, registered. At the end of May this year the owners of 2261 motor vehicles and of 76 motor-cycles had obtained their new number-plates, as compared with 2137 and 69 respectively at May 31, 1937. This means that the total number of motor vehicles registered to date this year is about 800 less than the total for last year. Motor drivers’ licences issued by the Masterton Borough Council up to today for the current licensing year - totalled 1689, as compared with 1600 on the corresponding date last year. The total issued by the Borough Council last year was about 2200. The Masterton County Council has issued for the current year 985 licences, the number at the corresponding date last year being 918. The total for last licensing year was 1250.
