Mrs W. Card, of Featherston, is on a visit to Gisborne.

A visitor to Poverty Bay is Mrs E. Barry, of Featherston. Mr and Mrs G. Miller, Feilding, were recent visitors to Masterton.

Mrs Eric Bushman, of Wellington, has ben the guest of Miss Feast, Greytown. Miss Ridgley, of Greytown, was the guest of her sister, Mrs Gray, in Wellington, during the week-end. Mrs M. Butler, Barton Terrace, Wellington, is the guest of Mrs R. C. Dickason, Short Street, Masterton. Mrs G. Petersen, of Palmerston North, and formerly of Masterton, was a visitor to Masterton yesterday. Mrs R. Douglas, formerly of Land’s End, has taken up her residence at Te Ore Ore.

Mrs M. R. Johnstone, of “Airlie,” Upper Plain, has returned from a visit to Wellington, where she was the guest of her sister, Mrs D. Ogilvy. Mr and Mrs S. McMaster, Wellington, were recently the guests of Mr McMaster’s parents, Mr and Mrs D. Mcaster, Kuripuni Street, Masterton. Mrs J. Mclntosh, of Morison’s Bush, has been in Palmerston North since Easter, having been taken ill there and not having yet sufficiently recovered to return home.

Miss Betty Bunny and Miss Barbara Baird, who are both to be married shortly, were the guests of honour on Tuesday evening at a delightful party given by Miss Barbara and Miss Isobel Barton at their residence, Lansdowne, Masterton. About 30 guests were present, and the evening passed all too quickly with music and competitions. Miss Barbara Barton wore a blue floral silk dress, and her sister was in blue velvet trimmed with gold. Miss Bunny was in blue velvet trimmed with gold. Miss Bunny was in blue, and Miss Baird wore a floral frock in blue and red tones. Competition winners, were Miss Dorothy Todd, Miss Betty Payton and Miss Isobel Bennett. Among those present were Mrs Noel Cunningham, Misses Jocelyn Hornabrook, Peggy Sellar, Peggy James, Jocelyn Betts, Dorothy Todd, Leslie, Aila, Nora and Joan Beetham, 'Patricia Jordan, Nan Rishworth, Kirsty Cameron (Hinakura), Margaret Pearce (Featherston), Lorna Blundell (Carterton), Helen Gill, Margaret Mawley, Isobel Bennett, Nancy and Betty Paton, Robina Thompson, Norma and Vivienne Bunny, Catherine Maunsell and Shirley Mace.
