LOADED REVOLVER
DISPLAYED BY YOUTH IN LIBRARY
DETECTIVES INTERVENE (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, June 3 The. activities of a youth who has brandished a loaded revolver in the Canterbury Public Library during the last few days were stopped by detectives this afternoon. The quietness of the library is rarely broken by any excitement but the sight of the youth waving a revolver and showing it to his friends began to cause some alarm to the staff. The alarm was increased when it was discovered on a recent evening that the revolver was loaded. Further visits by the youth, who made the reference room his were decidedly unwelcome, and this afternoon the matter was reported to the police. After the youth had left the library detectives arrived, and the youth was found with a revolver in his possession near the library. It was loaded in one chamber at the time.
