GREYTOWN
SCHOOL BUS SERVICE. (“Times-Age” Special.) By diverting the Battersea School bus along Cross’ Line the children living on that road are picked up and conveyed to the Grey town School. The action of the Education Board in providing this convenience is greatly appreciated by the settlers. FLOOD RELIEF FUND. Mrs Horton (Mayoress) presided over a meeting of the Hawke’s Bay Relief Committee when the final Greytown returns were received. The sum of £3O 5s 6d was collected in Greytown, £7 15s 6d in Morison’s Bush and £4 5s 6d in Battersea, making a total of £42 6s 6d. Mrs Horton expressed her thanks to Mrs A. Johnson (secretary), the donors and the committee for their cooperation in the appeal. MOTOR ACCIDENT. A man named Robert Hogg, of Greytown, received serious injuries in a collision with a motor cycle ridden by Joseph Spicer. The collision occurred just south of the Taratahi Hotel. Dr. Wells ordered his removal to the hospital. VITAL STATISTICS. The vital statistics for Greytown for May are: —Births, 3; deaths, 3; marriages, nil. DRIVERS’ LICENCES. The Greytown Town Clerk has issued 105 drivers’ licences up till Moy 31.. PERSONAL. The Rev. Cumming, of Marton, is staying with Mr and Mrs H. J. Nightingale, of Jellicoe Street.
