INDOOR BOWLS
MASTERTON CLUB’S COMPETITIONS. The Masterton Indoor Bowling Club continued its rinks competition nearly to its conclusion last week. Only four more games are required to determine the winning rink. Thursday’s games were disastrous to the leaders, Davies losing his first game, and both Fenton and Hendry, who had previously one loss, lost their games also. The following are the results of lost week’s games.... —Hendry 21 beat Shearer 18; Fenton 21 beat' Pickering 17; Finlayson 17 beat C. Roff 16; Davies 22 beatSimpson 21; L. Roff 17 beat Dixon 15; L. Roff 23 beat Pickering 14; Finlayson 24 beat Davies 13; C. Roff 28 beat Hendry 21; Simpson 20 beat Fentort 13; L. Roff 21 beat Shearer 20. The Park Ferns challenge resulted in Kennard and Wiltshire (holders) defeating Pickering and Gleeson by 23 to 21. The Builders defeated the Civil Servants, 24 to 20. The games arranged for this week are as follow:—Tuesday, 7 p.m —No. 1. Davies v Fenton, No. 2, Dixon v Shearer; 8.30 p.m., No. 1, Davies v Hendry: No. 2, C. Roff v Pickering. Thursday, 7 p.m—No 1, A. Moore, Finlayson (s) v Smith, Edwards (s); No. 2, Jansen, L Roff (s) v Milne, Ferguson (s). 8 p.m., No. 1, Nuttall, Thompson (s) v Pinkney, C. Roff (s); No. 2, Wiltshire, Fenton (s) v Stains, Joyce (s). 9 p.m., Henson, Dixon (s) v Buckley, Leigh (s); No. 2 Gleeson, Hendry (s) v Carpenter, Pickering (s). The games on Thursday will be the commencement of the Pairs Championship and players should note their respective players.
