COSY THEATRE
“IT’S A GRAND OLD WORLD.” The star picture at the Cosy Theatre tonight will be “It’s a Grand Old World,” with Sandy ‘ Powell in the leading role. Sandy is on the dole, and is disgusted when the Labour Exchange finds him a job as stage hand at a theatre. Sandy finds two things at the theatre —the leading lady, Joan, with whom he falls in love —and a circus lion, which becomes the terror of his life. Sandy becomes a hero by accidentally catching the lion when it escapes and makes an enemy of the leading man by his attentions to Joan. He next wins a football pool, and wins £16,000. He proceeds to turn the theatre upside down, and buys Joan’s old ancestral home, which has been put up for auction. This he gives back to the family. Then follow some exciting scenes. A daring comedy “While Parents Sleep,” will also be shown.
