WAIRARAPA CHAMPIONSHIPS REFEREES FOR SATURDAY. The following are the fixtures and referees for Saturday next: — SENIOR MEN Kiwi v Carterton, at Carterton, at 2.45 p.m.; referees, A Stubbings and G. MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE ARRANGEMENTS FOR INDIAN MATCH The management committee of the Wairarapa Hockey Association met at Carterton last evening, Mr G. Hayne (president) presiding over a good attendance of members. An apology for absence was received from Mr C. N. Cole. The forthcoming match with the visiting Indian team was discussed, and an advertisement programme was mapped out. The New Zealand Hockey Association advised that the team would arrive in Masterton on the Thursday evening, June 9. To safeguard the guarantors, ■it was decided to insure the match for £lOO against rain. Advice was received from the Ruahine Women’s Association, that they would accept the invitation to play the Wairarapa representatives as a curtain raiser to the Wairarapa v India match. Suitable entertainment is to be made for the visitors. The Wairarapa Representative team is to be given a try-out against Bush on June 4, the Bush Association having accepted the invitation to a match with Wairarapa. The game will be played at Carterton. As a curtain raiser to this game the Annual North v South Wairarapa match will be played. Mr J. Fisher was appointed as sole selector for the Wairarapa team. Mr R. S. Moore was appointed selector for the North team. Mr J. Fisher is to select the South team. Mr T. H. Richmond wrote accepting the position of Wairarapa Delegate to the New Zealand Hockey Association. He forwarded a copy of the report of the annual meeting. The nomination of players for the New Zealand team will close on June 31. The sole selector, Mr J. Fisher, was asked to forward his nominations to the secretary as soon as possible. It was decided to forward a challenge for the Nordon Cup. Mr E. W. Tooby was appointed Junior selector. Clubs are advised that entries for the annual tournament will close on Thursday, June 26. The meeting closed with a vote of thanks to Mr and Mrs Fisher, and the chairman. The next meeting will be held in Masterton.
