COURSING

ST. LEGER STAKES MEETING. Advice has been received by the Wairarap Coursing Club to the effect that it has been allotted the control of the New Zealand St. Leger Stakes, and arrangements are now being made to run this important event on June 6 (King’s Birthday). This is the third successive season that the local club has been entrusted with the control of a New Zealand classic and members are confident of again making this meeting an outstanding success. The programme will be supplemented by a 16-dog maiden stake. A coursing St. Leger is only for greyhounds of either sex not older than two years, and which have been registered with the litter.
