OPTIMIST CLUB

MEETING LAST NIGHT. The weekly meeting of the Masterton Y.M.C.A. Optimist Club was held last night, the president, Mr F. Gillions presiding over a good attendance of members and visitors. The usual tea and community sing were held, following which Mr E. G. Coddington gave an interesting and informative address on weather and weather forecasting. Mr Coddington outlined the various climatic conditions experienced throughout the world, and explained the origin of cyclones and other weather disturbances. Mr Coddington also referred to the delicate and complicated instruments which were used to record temperature, air pressure, etc. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to Mr Coddington for his address. Next Tuesday, an impromptu speech evening will be held. An invitation is extended to any young man, who is seeking fellowship, to attend the meeting. .
