In 1917, -two cargo ships, called Western Indian and Western Belle, both of 3485 tons, were built by a United States firm. For 20 years they were laid up; not once did either sail with a cargo. Recently they arrived at Briton Ferry, Glamorgan, to be broken up at Messrs T. W. Ward’s ship-breaking yard.
