STOPPED BY POLICE

AUCKLAND WRESTLING BOUT. By Telegraph—Press Association. AUCKLAND, .May 22. A professional wrestling match at the Town Hall on Saturday night between Lofty Blomfield, Auckland, and Jack Kennedy, America, was stopped in the final round by Inspector Scott, of the Auckland police. This round commenced with exchanges of forearm jolts and flying tackles. Kennedy was then warned by the referee for punching, and again for kicking his opponent in the abdomen. In spite of these warnings the visitor, lifted his knee into Blomfield’s face, and it was then that the inspector rose from his seat at the ringside, went up to the ropes, and demanded that the referee stop the contest. Prior to this incident Blomfield had gained a fall immediately after the match started.
