PARSNIPS AND CARROTS
METHOD OF STORING. The following is a proved method of storing parsnips and carrots in clamps out of doors. Lift the roots and cut off the tops, not too close, leaving about three inches. Stock the roots in a conical heap with the crowns outwards. Place sand between the layers as the work proceeds, then bank up the whole with earth beaten well down with a spade.
