NINE DEAD

MISSING AIR LINER FOUND IN CALIFORNIA CRASH ON MOUNTAIN SIDE. ALL THE BODIES BURNED. (Recd This Day, 12.45 p.m.) LOS ANGELES, May 18. The missing , air liner was found crumpled on the slopes of the mountain side in Mint Canyon, twenty miles north of Saugus. All nine passengers were dead and their bodies burned. Apparently the machine crashed with terrific force and burst into flames. It was reported yesterday from Los Angeles that a Lockheed transport plane on its maiden flight, carrying nine persons, including four women and two children, to St. Paul, had been missing for hours.
