CYCLIST INJURED
KNOCKED DOWN BY CAR AT WAINGAWA.
VICTIM TAKEN TO HOSPITAL.
While cycling home on the Carterton Road last night Mr Frederick McKelvey, a married man, of 59 Lincoln Road, Masterton, was knocked down by a car and suffered injuries which necessitated his removal to hospital. He was found lying on the road and was immediately conveyed to Dr J. A. Cowie’s surgery and thence to the Masterton Hospital. The accident occurred at about 6.45 o’clock, not far from the Waingawa bridge. Mr McKelvey is employed at the Waingawa Freezing Works. He suffered injuries to the head, left leg and wrist. The motorist allegedly concerned in the accident is as yet unknown. The bicycle was badly damaged.
Mr McKelvey was reported this morning to be progressing favourably.
