MARTINBOROUGH
RADIO CLUB DANCE (“Times-Age” Special) A most successful dance was held by the Martinborough Branch of the Amateur Radio Transmitters in the club rooms last evening. A very attractive and effective colour scheme in black and orange, the club’s colours made the decorations an outstanding feature. The floor was in good order, and the music excellent. There was a large attendance. The success of the dance was due to the efforts of many able and keen workers in the club. As the dance marked the first anniversary of the Club, a birthday cake, which was attractively decorated in the club’s colours, was provided. The president’s wife, Mrs R. J. Wright, lit the candle, and Mrs Bell wife of another member of the club, cut the first piece from the cake. All present received a piece of the cake. A dainty supper was served. A raffle for a miniature barrel of cigarettes was drawn and the winning ticket 97, was held by Mr F. Jacobsen, Te Awaiti. Two novelty dances were held, Mr G. Cotter and Miss J! Grant winning one and Mr Ray Farley and partner another. Mr Lawrence, president of the Pahiatua Radio Club was present.
