TAXI DRIVER FINED
INTOXICATED IN CHARGE OF CAR. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. "In my opinion, you, as as a taxi driver, should know much better than other drivers how serious an offence it is to become drunk in charge of a car. There is no suggestion here that you were merely slightly intoxicated,” said Mr Goulding, S.M., when convicting William Henry Solomon, aged 40, on such a charge. A fine of £2O was imposed and Solomon's licence was cancelled for two years, from the end of this month.
