ALFREDTON
FAREWELL GATHERING. *■ (“Times-Age” Special.) Recently a very pleasant evening was spent in the Alfredton Hall, the occasion being a send-off to Mr and Mrs Watson and family, who are leaving the district. Mrs W. Rolls presented the guests of the evening with a salad set and servers and Misses Rona and Dorothy Watson were also recipients of parting gifts. A euchre tournament was held and also competitions. The singing of “Auld Lang Syne” brought a most enjoyable evening to a close. CRUTCHING DELAYED. Owing to the continual wet weather crutching operations are being delayed in this district. RIDING ELECTION. Considerable interest is being taken in the Alfredton Riding of the County election, there being three new candidates. PERSONAL ITEMS. Mr R. Low, who underwent an operation in the Pahiatua Hospital, is making satisfactory progress towards recovery. Mr S. McKay has returned to Alfredton after a visit to Australia. Mr T. S. George was a recent visitor to Alfredton. Mr and Mrs C. Kebbell are visiting Wellington.
