Mr Wellington is leaving the district to take up residence in Masterton. GUN CLUB MEETING. The South Wairarapa Gun Club held a shoot on Wednesday. The conditions were most favourable but the entries were disappointing. The main event of the day, 19 birds for a cash prize of £25 resulted in a tie between R. Buick and J. A cup has been donated to the club by Mr A. V. Swanson, of Wellington. It is to be known as the Kumenga Cup. The cup is to be won twice in succession or three times at intervals before it can become the property of a competitor. PERSONAL ITEMS.
Mr A. Warren, who has been on a motor holiday in the northern districts, has returned home. Mr and Mrs D. S. Warren, who have been on a holiday have returned. Misses Apiata and Newton, Auckland, are visiting this district. ROAD BLOCKED BY SLIPS. Owing to the heavy downpour which was experienced here last week a big slip occurred on the Palliser Bay Road which completely blocked all traffic. The road is now clear. POOR SHOOTING BAGS. Shooters in this locality did not have a successful time at the opening. Although there were plenty of game the fine weather experienced together with so much water, did not tend to make the opening as satisfactory as was expected. Reports received from other quarters are to the same effect.
