CHINESE FINED
IN POSSESSION OF OPIUM
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) 1 DANNEVIRKE, May 5. For having found found in possession of prepared opium, a Chinese, Lai Youn, chef of the Club hotel, was fined £25 in the Magistrates’ Court, Dannevirke, before Mr J. Miller, S.M. Sergeant T. Dyer stated that following information received, he visited the Club Hotel, and saw the licensee hand a letter which had been delivered through the post to Youn. When opened the letter was found to contain opium.
