4 WELLINGTON PRICES STEADY There was no marked change in prices at the sale of sheepskins, hides and tallow held yesterday by the Wellington brokers: Sheepskins: Competition was keen for all grades of skins, and prices of three-quarter to full wools were on a par with those of the previous sale, but short-woolled skins and pelts showed a decline of id to Id a lb. Hides: There was little change in the market. Light and medium weights were par to Jd higher, while heavy grades were on a par with the previous sale. Yearlings and kip showed a decline of Id to 3d a lb. and calfskins remained unchanged. Tallow: A small offering was submitted and showed a slight advance in price. The following is the range of prices: Sheepskins: Halfbred Gjd to BJd; fine crossbred, 63d to B|d; medium crossbred, 53d to 83d; coarse crossbred, 5Jd to 83d; half wools, 43d to 7Jd; quarter wools, 4“d to 6Jd; pelts, 23d to 43d. Salted skins (each): Pelts to Is; quarter wools to 2s; half wools, 2s to 3s 9d; three-quarter wools to 4s Id. Hides: Ox, 331 b to 441 b, 43d to sd; 451 b to 521 b, 4 7-8 d to 5 7-8 d; 531 b to 591 b, 53d to 6?d; 601 b to 691 b, 7 l-8d to 73d; 701 b and over, 6Jd to 73d. Cow, 331 b to 391 b, 4 l-8d to 5 l-8d; 501 b to 481 b, 43d to sd; 491 b and over, 4 l-8d to sd. Kip, 251 b to 321 b, 3 l-8d to 5 l-8d; 171 b to 241 b, 34d to 6d. Yearling, 111 b to 161 b, 4 l-8d to 6 7-Bd. Calf, 91b to 101 b, to 7 l-8d; 61b to 81b, 73d to 9d; 1 lb to 51b, 73d to 9 l-Bd. Tallow: In tins, 7s to 10s 6d a cwt.
