4 FEILDING SALE (By Telegraph—Press Association.) FEILDING, April 29. There was a particularly heavy yarding of run cattle at the Feilding sale today, about 1600 head of all ages being on hand. For good fresh-condi-tioned lots splendid sales were made at up to £ll 17s, this being paid for some Pakihikura four-year Hereford bullocks. Backward-conditioned lines were hard of sale. Fat sheep were in improved condition and made satisfactory prices and for all other stock quotations were at late rates. Prices were as follows: —
Fat sheep: Extra prime wethers 32s 3d, prime 28s to 295, lighter 24s to 26s 8d; b.f. two-tooths, 25s 3d to 28s lOd; extra choice lambs 27s to 295, prime sorts 25s to 26s 3d, average lots 23s 2d to 24s 9d, light 16s to 20s; best ewes 235, lighter 15s lOd to 18s 6d. Store cattle: Weaner Jersey heifers £1 Us to £2 15s; empty forward heifers £2 10s to £3 17s; boner cows, heavy £4 to £4 7s 6d, others £2 10s to £3 17s 6d; potter bulls to £7 12s 6d; fat and forward four-year Hereford bullocks. £ll 8s to £ll 17s; 20-month P.A. steers £6 6s to £6 14s; Red Poll steers £6 6s; 2-J-year P.A. steers, poor conditioned, £6 2s 6d to £6 18s; 20-month P.A. heifers £3 19s to £4 2s; forward Hereford cows £4 to £4 6s; empty P.A. cows £5 to £5 4s, lighter conditioned £3 16s to £4 15s; P.A. weaner heifers £2 15s to £4 6s; P.A. weaner steers £3 14s to £5 10s; Hereford heifers £2 15s; 18-month steers, £6 10s; 18-month Red Poll steers £6 6s; P.A. cows r.w. CARTERTON SALE Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., report: We held our weekly sale at Carterton yesterday when we offered a good yarding to the usual attendance. Springing cows and heifers sold well and fat and fwd. cows made late rates. Sheep also sold at late rates. Pigs were about the same as last week. Prices ruled as follows: — Sheep, Wr Lambs, to 14s 8d; fat ewes, to 16s; cull ewes, to 10s 3d. Cattle, jers. heifers on drop, £7 5s to £7 10s; jers. cows on drop, £5 ss, £6 10s, £7 to £7 10s; E. jers. heifers, £3 2s 6d to £4; Ylg. jers. heifers, 31s, £2 to £3; fat cows, £5 2s 6d, £6 5s to £6 6s; fwd cows, £3 ss, £4 to £4,55; store cows, 35s to £2 10s; weaners’, to £3; bulls, £3 to £5. Pigs, weaners (good), 8s to 9s 6d; (med), 6s 6d to 7s; (small), 4s 6d to 5s 6d; slips, 10s 6d, 13s to 15s 6d; store pigs, 17s to 19s 6d; porkers, 28s to 39s 6d; baconers, £2 10s to £3 15s; choppers, 35s to £2 17s 6d.
