ODD FELLOWS

MASTERTON LODGE FORTNIGHTLY MEETING The Loyal Masterton Odd Fellows' Lodge, M.U.1.0.0.F.. met last evening. Bro. A. Torrance presided over a good attendance. Reports from the Past Grands’ Lodge ritual examiners were received and Loyal Heart of Oak Lodge (Carterton), were congratulated on winning the Shield.

The Past Grands' Lodge will meet tomorrow night at Greytown, when important business will be transacted. An invitation from the Eketahuna lodge and the Rose of Valley Juvenile Lodge to attend their meetings was received. It was stated that lodge members could not attend either function.

The Friendly Societies’ Council notified the lodge that the card tournament would commence on May 8 at the Hibernian Hall. The Council was also arranging a football match with the country lodges. Nominations for office will be received up till the next lodge night. The election will take place on Quarter Night, May 23. Lodge members reported on a visit to the Rose of Sharon Lodge, Upper Hutt, when a very pleasant evening was spent. The District Officers were present, and it was a pleasure to see one of the largest gatherings of the Wellington Past, Grands’ Lodge at the function.

P.D.G.M. Bro. P. M. Smith, presented, on behalf of the District, the Smith Challenge Shield, to the Rose of Sharon Lodge, for recording the most members during the past year.
