YOUNG FARMERS

INTER-CLUB JUDGING CONTEST. GATHERING AT SOLWAY. An inter-club judging competition was held at Solway Showgrounds this morning by members of Young Farmers’ Clubs in the Wairarapa. The contest was arranged by the Wairarapa District Council. Among those present were the members of the New Zealand team, including two from Carterton, which recently visited Australia and a party of four representing the British Isles, now returning home after a tour of Australia. It will be some days before the results of the judging competition are announced. A contest of interest was that in which Wairarapa, New Zealand and English teams were matched against each other. The visiting British team will remain in the district for three days, during which period its members will take an opportunity of inspecting farms and stock in the Wairarapa. A dance is to be* held tonight in honour of the British visitors.
