WAIRARAPA ASSOCIATION. DRAW FOR TOURNAMENT GAMES. The Wairarapa Basketball Association will open the season at 2 p.m. on Saturday next on the Wairarapa College courts, when a tournament will be held for both A and B grades. A very large number of teams have entered this year and next Saturday will see the A grade teams competing. The B grade will consist of seven teams, four of these being from the Wairarapa College. The public is cordially invited to attend the tournament which should see some close contests. It is hoped that three courts will be available at the College and the draw has resulted as follows. Players and referees are to be present at 1.45 p.m. so that the matches may be commenced promptly. A GRADE. Ist round: (1) Stars v Wairarapa College II (court 1,2 p.m., referee, Miss O. R. Sutherland); (2) lona v H.S. Old Girls I (court 2,2 p.m., Miss R. K. Edwards). 2nd round: (3) Winners of (1) v winners of (2) (court 1, 2.50 p.m., Miss J. Rayne); (4) Technical Old Girls II v Wairarapa College I (court I, 2.25 p.m., Miss J. Rayne); (5) Technical Old Girls I v High School Old Girls II (court 1, 3.20 p.m., Miss D. O’Donnell); (6) Stars II v Wairarapa College HI (court 2, 2.50 p.m., Miss L. Cocker). Semi-finals: (7) winners 3 v winners 4 (court 2, 3.20 p.m., Miss O. R: Sutherland); (8) winners 5 v winners 6 (court 1, 3.45 p.m., Miss R. K. Edwards). Final: Winners 7 v winners 8 (court I, 4.10 p.m., Miss J. Rayne). B GRADE.
