f : SCHOOL ASSOCIATION. (“Times-Age” Special.) The monthly meeting of the Home and School Association was held in the school last night, Miss Card was in the chair. Others present were: Mesdames Halpin, Carlyon, J. Buck, McKenzie, Harkness, J. T. Holland. Saunders, Messrs Pendegrast (head master), Allen, Lowell, Kilsby, Cole. Apologies were received from Mesdames Sharp, Brandon, Lawson and Mr Shepherd, A letter was read from Mr R. W. Matthews, accepting the position of patron. A sub-committee consisting of Messrs Pendegrast, Allen and Shepherd, was formed to deal with radio installation. One new member was proposed, and 1938-39 membership cards are now ready. It was decided to increase sports material. BADMINTON. The season was opened .last night at the Town Hall when there was a good attendance. Several new members were enrolled. PEPtSONAL. Miss Tyer has found it necessary to enter Kelvin Hospital for further treatment.
Mrs V' Stewart, who has been visiting her mother, Mrs J. Q. Sutherl.-nd, has ret'e. ed to Kaikoura.
