BOROUGH FINANCE

POSITION OF CARTERTON COUNCIL. CREDIT AT END OF YEAR. (“Times-Age” Special.) Rate collections by the Carterton Borough Council during the past financial year totalled £1,917 4s 8d as compared with £1,322 5s lOd for 1936/37. Rates outstanding amounted to £968, as against £1,216 at the close of the previous financial year.

It was pointed out at last night’s meeting of the council that the year finished with a credit balance in the District Fund Account of £1,614 16s 9d as compared with £1,833 16s 8d on March 31, 1937. The Gas Works cash credit stood at £447 4s sd, as against £472 2s 2d at the corresponding date last year.
