CLAY BIRD SHOOTING
MASTERTON CLUB EVENTS. OPENING OF THE SEASON. The official opening shoot of the Masterton Gun Club’s 1938 season was held at the club grounds, Te Ore Ore, on Saturday afternoon. The president, Mr R. J. King, in declaring the season open, wished the shooters a successful season. He said he felt sure that those shooters who would be competing in open matches elsewhere would worthily uphold the reputation of the club. The following is the result of Sat-
A. iviacanster - ■ Six others competed. The four top scorers to to shoot off for Mi- J. Laurenson’s trophy which has to be won four times. J. Udy missed his third bird, D. McKenzie the eleventh and J. McKenzie the twentieth, leaving K. Ingley the winner. A 12 bird match was divided by J. W. McKenzie, W. H. Saunders, Jim McKenzie and K. Ingley who all broke the possible number of birds. The next shoot will be held on Saturday, May 7.
