WRESTLING
BLOMFIELD BEATS JENSEN. By Telegraph.—Press Association, WANGANUI, April 19. After being the aggressor in nearly every round, Leo Jensen fell a victim to Lofty Blomfield's octopus clamp in round eight of a wrestling bout at Wanganui tonight and lost to the New Zealander. Jensen weighed 15st 41b and Blomfield 16st 81b. The bout marked the opening of the wrestling season at Wanganui and attracted a very large house. Jensen proved himself a clever and colourful matman, with a large variety of holds, and he had Blomfield in trouble several times. In round five the men had a melee outside the ring and the referee, Mr A. Anderson, Palmerston North, tried hard to separate the pair. Jensen was knocked off the staging among the spectators and the crowd was in an uproar, but the police intervened and the referee ordered the contestants back to the ring after applying a' couple of headlocks to both men. Jensen proved popular with the crowd.
