COURSING

WAIRARAPA CLUB’S MEETING. The Wairarapa Coursing Club will hold a meeting on the Akura Enclosure next Saturday when a sixteenddg maiden event will be run off and an eight-dog open event. Although entries do not close until Thursday the open event is already filled to the limit and the maiden has only two openings left. Amongst the visiting dogs entered is the crack Wanganui dog, “Mosquito Boy,” and the champion Gisborne dog “Golden Ranch.” Mr J. Hannan also has an Australian dog entered. The local crack, “Rereatu,” is also showing early form and accounted for a big event at Napier on Easter Saturday. Interest is developing early this season and some wonderful coursing should be witnessed.

As usual the club will have afternoon tea available on the ground and the courses will be run strictly to time to enable the big programme to be completed in the one afternoon.
