TENNIS DISPUTE
EXPENSES AT AUCKLAND. BUDGE AND MAKO EXPLAIN. LOS ANGELES, April 14. The tennis players J. D. Budge and G. Mako deny the story published in New Zealand that they demanded and received 100 dollars each for exhibition matches at Auckland. Mako admitted receiving the money but denied that he threatened not to play unless paid. Budge said they accepted only the expenses permitted by the rules.
