GREYTOWN
SOCIAL GATHERING. (“Times-Age” Special.) A most enjoyable gathering was held at the residence of Mr and Mrs Fred Morgan on Saturday evening, when the employees at Mr W. A. Tates’ orchard met to entertain Mrs Reg. Farmer, one of their number, who was recently married. At a suitable interval in the proceedings Mr Fred Morgan, on behalf of those present handed Mrs Farmer an electric jug, and a crystal salad bowl. PARCEL EVENING. In the Odd Fellows’ Hall on Monday night Miss Jean Morris was tendered a parcel evening in view of her approaching marriage. Many beautiful presents were received. On behalf of the Greytown Entertainers, Mr A. Bouzaid presented Miss Morris with an English earthenware flower bowl. Miss Morris suitably replied. Mrs C. W. Brown and Miss N. Bouzaid were the hostesses. QUEEN CARNIVAL. At the euchre tourney held in the Crown Theatre on Monday night in aid of the Greytown Queen candidate (Miss V. Bouzaid), the prizes were won by Mrs O’Brien and Mr J. Parker Ist, Mrs Pohipe and Mr McCarthy 2nd. The prizes for the lucky numbers went to Mrs R. Rewi, (Easter dinner) and Mrs G. Whiteman (Masterton).
