The weekly euchre evening held by the Featherston Volunteer Fire Brigade was held in the Anzac Hall last night, when there was a large attendance. The following were the prize winners:—Ladies: Miss B. Chisholm 1, Mrs G. Julian 2. Men: Mr A. Jury 1, Mr J. Rae 2. WAIRARAPA RACES. The acceptances for the first day of the Wairarapa Racing Club’s Easter meeting are exceptionally good. Apart from the numbers, the class of horses engaged is good. Fifteen horses are accepted for in the big race, the Easter Handicap. The balance of the fields range from 7 to 20. There are some good stayers engaged—perhaps some of them stay a bit too long in one place. However, with the size of the fields and the unknown quality of some of the horses it is anticipated there will be some good dividends, if one can only strike them. FIRE BRIGADE TEAM.

The Featherston Volunteer Fire Brigade will send a team to Dannevirkc on Friday where they will compete in the U.F.B.A.A. competitions. PERSONAL.

Mrs Ross (Auckland), is the guest of Mrs Nix Senr., Tauherenikau.
