PAHIATUA
NEED FOR TOWN CLOCK. (“Times-Age” Special.) At the meeting of the Pahiatua Borough Council, Councillor Watts brought up the matter of the town clock and advocated a personal appeal of all town and country residents. He was of opinion that they would get £2OO from the town and £3OO from the country. The Mayor thought the correct thing would be to get any committee that may exist to meet and determine a plan of how to get the money, deal with the site question and select a clock. In the Mayor’s opinion, the only site in the town for a town clock to be of service to town and country was between the squares opposite the W.F.C.A.
Councillor Sturton moved that the committee be called together to deal with the question. Councillor Watts seconded the motion, which was carried.
