RIDER SERIOUSLY INJURED. (“Times-Age” Special.) Mr Stewart Harvey, of Dyerville, met with a very serious accident on Wednesday morning when he was thrown from his horse on to the bitumen road. He suffered a fractured skull and other injuries to his head. His condition is said to be serious. PERSONAL. Mr E. J. Ussher is indisposed in a private hospital in Wellington. Mrs N. Lundon and her small child are visiting Wanganui. Mr M. Francis, of the Post Office staff, is taking his annual leave. Miss Joyce Madsen, of Masterton, is staying with Mr and Mrs F. Holland. WOMEN’S INSTITUTE. The monthly meeting of the Women’s Institute was held in the Presbyterian Hall yesterday afternoon. There was a large attendance of members. During the afternoon Mrs Jolly, who returned from a 10 months’ tour of England and the Continent in January, gave a very interesting talk on the Coronation, and showed mementos of that notable occasion, amongst which was a miniature model of the Royal coach. A very hearty vote of thanks was passed to Mrs Jolly and she was presented with a small posy. Wool rug-making was demonstrated by Mrs E. A. Findlay. EUCHRE TOURNAMENT. There was a fair attendance at the Queen Carnival euchre tournament and dance held in Dyerville last evening. The winners of the euchre were: Ladies, Mrs Whitehead 1, Miss Quinn 2. Men—Mr Wikie 1, Mr Pratt 2. A competition was won by Mr J. Quinn and the Easter dinner by Mr Campbell Smith.
