WOMEN’S INSTITUTE

HAMUA MEETING. There was a good attendance of members of the annual meeting of the Hamua Women's Institute. Mrs Hobbs presided. Miss Sorenson was first and Mrs Leo Johanson second in the points competition, a laundered table cloth. In the best bloom competition, Miss Margaret Davies was first and Miss Bailey second. The members of the committee elected for the ensuing year were Mesdames Bailey, Biddle, Cavanagh, Davies, Hobbs, Humphrey. R. J. Smith, W. J. Smith. Sorenson and White. Mrs Hobbs was re-elected president and Mrs Bailey secretary and the vice-pre-sidents arc Mesdames Davies and White.

The hostesses for the afternoon were Mesdames Cavanagh and Johanson.
