COMING OF AGE PARTY

ENJOYABLE GATHERING There was a large gathering in the Masonic Hall on Wednesday night to celebrate the coming of age of Miss Ily Scott. The hall was tastefully decorated with greenery and coloured paper flowers. Excellent music was supplied by the State Dance Band, and much appreciated extras were played by Mr J. Blake on the piano and accordion. The statue dance was won by Mrs Jammiason and Mr A. Beale. During

the evening novelty dances were given by juvenile pupils of Miss Berna Stimpson. Mr A. Kay delighted. the audience with several songs to his guitar accompaniment. A number of conjuring tricks were given by Mr T. Ray. Items were also given by Mr S. Gerrand and his performing dog. Mr Colin Harding capably carriec. out the duties of M.C. The many beautiful presents received were evidence of the popularity of the guest of honour. During the evening Mr A. W. G. Rollings presented Miss Scott with a key and proposed the health of the guest of the evening. After being accorded musical honours Miss Scott suitably re-

plied. Mr C. Perry proposed the health of Mrs Scott, who was also accorded musical honours. Mr Bollings replied on Mrs Scott’s behalf. Miss Scott wore a charming frock of pink and silver embossed angel skin with a blue taffeta spray and sash. Mrs Scott’s frock was of black lace relieved with pink and cyclamen.
