Miss Betty Parry, “Tawai,” Mount Bruce, will leave by the Awatea on April 26 on a two-months’ visit to Sydney.

Lady Jardine, who has been visiting New Zealand, left Wellington by the Rangitata for London. Mr and Mrs T. R. Barrer, Masterton, are visiting their son, Mr B. A. Barrer, Christchurch.

After having been principal of Wanganui Girls’ College since February, 1932, Miss A. C. Tizard, M.A., has resigned. Mr and Mrs Ivan McCulloch, of Christchurch, who are visiting Mrs McCullough, Tiraumea Road, Pahiatua, will leave tomorow for a motor trip of the North Island. On Tuesday last the staff of C. Smith Ltd., spent a very pleasant evening at the residence of Mr and Mrs G. Milne, Renall Street, in honour of the approaching mariage of Miss R. Green. Games, competitions and items, kindly rendered by Mr H. Hall were greatly enjoyed. A dainty supper was provided, after which Miss Green opened her parcels. An enjoyable evening closed with the singing of “Auld Lang syne.” At the monthly meeting of the Pahiatua Methodist' Ladies’ Guild reference was made to the impending departure of Mrs C. M. Roberts to Levin. Members expressed appreciation of the efficient way in which Mrs Roberts had performed her duties as president of the Guild and her hearty and cheerful assistance in all branches of the church work. Mrs Roberts was then presented with a handsome pair of gloves and a beautiful autumn bouquet. Mrs Roberts expressed her appreciation of the gift, and said the work had ever been a pleasure to her and she had enjoyed doing it. At the annual meeting of the Pamiatua branch of the Women’s Division of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union the election of officers resulted as follows: —President,. Mrs Day; vicepresidents, Mesdames J. D. Piper, W. Gilbert, F. P. Nelson, and R. A. Wilson; advisory members, Mrs W. Gilbert . and Miss . Whitmore-Searle: house-keeper secretary and treasurer, Mrs J. A. Gibson; recording secretary, Mrs W. D. Harris; committee, Mesdames W. Fulton (Kohinui), H. H. Miller (Ngaturi), C. Smith (Konini), H. Whitta (Coonoor), J. Curtin (Mangamutu), H. Cornelius (Mangahao), W. Fergus (Ruawhatal, W., E.. C. Tylee, Geo. Russel land David Crewe (Pahiatua), J. Bremner, L. Holdaway and Miss Gibson (Ballance), F. Ward (Mangatainoka).
