WOMEN’S DIVISION
CARTERTON BRANCH ANNUAL MEETING.
The annual meeting of the Carterton Branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union was held on Friday last. There was a large attendance of members, Mrs J. Standen, president, being in the chair. The past year’s work was reviewed by the president. The year has been a most satisfactory one. The annual meeting of the Garden Circle will be held the same day as the next monthly meeting. The crystal salad bowl donated by Mrs Allen for the most points gained during the year at the monthly competitions, was won by Mrs. L. Rayner. After four years work as president of the branch, Mrs Standen tendered her resignation, which was received with regret. Much credit is due to Mrs Standen for the wonderful progress made by the branch. The newly elected president is Mrs
E. Allen, the secretary, Miss M. ' Thompson and the treasurer Miss J. Anderson. On May 2 the annual ball of the Women’s Division and the Young Farmers’ Club will be held, when two members of the Young Farmers’ Club will be welcomed home from their Australian tour. Afternoon tea was served by the members.
