GOLD MINING RETURNS Gillespie’s Beach reports that the dredgemaster has stopped the dredge to replace some timbers in the main framing. This work will take probably a week to complete.
The Clutha River dredge return was 1430 z. for 122 hours’ work.
The Okarito dredge washed up 270 z. for 98 hours.
The Mataki dredge return for the week ended April 3 was 28oz. for 133 hours’ work and 7200 cubic yards. During March a total of 33,340 cubic yards was treated for a return of 1350 z. 12 dwt. 6gr.
