RADIO CLUB. EUCHRE TOURNAMENT. (“Times-Age” Special) The Radio Club’s euchre tournament which was held on Tuesday evening drew a large attendance of players. The winners were: Ladies, Mrs T. Fisher 1, Mrs Skill 2. Men: Mr J. King 1, Mr Mofflt, snr., 2. THE MAYORALTY. Mr Chas. Skill has been nominated for the Mayoralty. The present Mayor, Mr Walter Martin, has definitely decided to retire. PERSONAL. Miss Maud Davey is on a holiday in Christchurch. Mr and Mrs Dick Bright, of Lower Hutt, are visiting Mr and Mrs E. Bright. A Canadian visitor to Martinborough is Mrs Wesson, of Regina. She is staying with Mr and Mrs A. O. Pike. Mr John Poulter, son of Mr and Mrs C. R. Poulter, and at present on the staff 3YL, Christchurch, left on Tuesday by the Awatea on a five weeks’ vacation in Sydney., Mr and Mrs Geoffrey W. Gilbert, of “Ehuma” are on holiday in Rotorua. Martinborough readers will be interested to learn that Miss Gabrielle Fleury, of Lusaka, Northern Rhodesia, is visiting her brother, the Rev. F. E. Fleury, of Kimbolton. Miss Fleury, who is matron of a State boarding school, is.on six months’ furlough. Mr and Mrs Robert Smith and family, of Waihenga, left on Tuesday for Eastborune where they are to reside' in future. SCHOOL DANCE. The Home and School monthly dance and euchre which was held last evening was very successful. The euchre winners were: Ladies, Mrs Stan Davidson; men, Mr Reg. Feist. The aggregate prizes for the year were won by Mesdames Davidson and McCardle (equal ladies) and Mr Stan Davidson (men). The lucky number, for which a sucking pig was the prize was won by Mr Reg. Feist. The Easter cake raffle was also drawn during the evening and the holder of the lucky ticket was K. Farley, of Martinborough.
