TABLE TENNIS MAURICEVILLE CLUB ANNUAL REPORT. The annual report of the Mauriceville Table Tennis Club states:—“The 1937 season has proved a very healthy one for this club. A marked improvement was noticed in the general standard of play and several members showed early that they had received benefit from the visit of the Hungarians, Messrs. Szabados and Kelen. The financial position was sound. After allowing for all expenses a. surplus of £4 was added to last year’s balance.

“The following players secured representative honours: Messrs. H. and N. Myers, R. Clarke and W. bay and Misses M. and J. McGovern. In addition the following championship honours were gain: Wairarapa Men’s doubles: H. and N. Myers: * Ladies’ singles: Miss M. McGovern. Combined: H. Myers and Miss M. McGovern. The following club activities were engaged in: A friendly match was played with St. Ronan's team of Lower Hutt and a subsequent return visit was made. A visit was made to the Nireaha Club and the Hastwells team was entertained at home.

“The final results of the inter-club tournament showed that all teams gave a good account of themselves, the A team being beaten only by Winter Sports. The season reviewed showed a surprising keenness of all club members, which augers well for the future.”
