Tuhikaramea Road Board

The annual meeting of the Tuhikaramea Road Board was held at noon on Saturday, 7th May. There were present—Messrs S. Reid, F. J. Vickers, D. Mcßeath, 11. Livingstone, and J. Gore. The clerk read the notice declaring the above-named gentlemen elected members of the board, and he asked the members to elect a chairman for the ensuing year. Mr Livingstone proposed and Mr Core seconded that Mr S. Reid he reelected. This motion was carried. The members then drew lots as to which two of them would retire at the endfof the first year, resulting in Mr Livingstone and Mr Mcßeath being the retiring members. The balance-sheet was read by the treasurer, and it showed a credit balance of £221 12s 3d on 31st March, but when works completed and now in progress since 31st March had been paid for the balance would be reduced to a very small figure. It was agreed that the chairman, Mr Vickers, and the clerk sign cheques on behalf of the board. The board decided that the ordinary meetings be held on the second Saturday in each month as hitherto, the first meeting to be held on the 14th May, at 7 p.m. The board then rose.
