WAIKATO CENTRAL A. AND P ASSOCIATION.

The Geueral Committee of the above met in the Farmers' O'ubroom yesterday afternoon at 3 o'clock. Present: Messrs J. Fisher (Chairman), R. Fisher, R. Reynolds, Jas. Taylor, A. W. Gane, W. F. Dixon, C. Lake, Jas. Hooker f W. Vosper, A. L. Souter. New Members.—The following new members were elected:—Messrs J. Allen, W. Brunskill, J. L. Macky, W. Mathieson, F. ( J. Brooks, Walter Cheyne, W. H. Wallace, K. O'Keefe, W. J. Andrews, W. J. Wallace, and W. Aybward. Treasurer. —Mr F. J. Brooks wrote consenting to act as treasurer to the Association, and thanking the Committee for the confidence placed in him in electing him to the office. Material j?or Yards.—Messrs Ellis and Burnand and Messrs W. Souter and Co. wrote offering a quantity of sawn sleepers on rail at Waimarino and Mangapeehi.—The Secretary was instructed to write for further particulars from both firms. Incorporation.—Mr John W. Ritchie, Secretary to the Agricultural Department, wrote as follows:—« With reference to your letter of 21st April last, addressed to the Colonial Seontary, I have the hoaour, by direction of the Hon. the Minister for Agriculture, to inform you that in compliance with your petition forwarded, His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to incorporate your Association under The Agricultural and Pastoral Societies Act, 1877,' and that a notification of this appears in the Gazette of the Ilth inst. 1 forward herewith the original Order-in-Council, and six copies of an extract from the Gazette. I also return herewith your cheque amounting to £5 0s 6d, as no fee is oh<r«ed for incorporation.' Special Offer ok Sewing Machine. —Messrs Dennis Bros., of Auckland wrote offering two sewing machines at half«prioe for prizes also to visit the show with one of their gramphones,and further to present a prize in the form of a clock valued at £1 Is. The secretary was instructed to acuoowledge the receipt of the letter and to infon.i them boat the matter would receive cousideration later. Use of Ground.—The Secretary of the Cambridge Ladies' Hookey Club to.be informed that the committee granted permission for the club to use the Show Grounds for their weekly practices. Preparing Grounds. Mr James Taylor reported thit he had had the grounds skimmed ready for ploughing, and he hoped to have the trenching for the planting done next week. The President and Vice-President were deputed to arrange for the planting of grounds. Use of Farmers' Clue Room.—The secretary was instructed to write to the Waikato Farmers' Club and ask upon what terms the Association could have the use of the club room for their busi* ness. Next Meeting.—The next meeting of the committee will be held on Friday month. Payments. The tollowine accounts were passed for payment :—W. F. Buckland £3 3s, R. J. Paull £3 Is 6d, J. T. Edwards 7s 6d, E. J. Wilkinson 12s, G. W. Venables £2 0s 6d.
