BUTTER CARRIAGE.

Mr F. W. Lang, M.H.R., has received the following letter fiom Sir J. G. Ward, Minister for Railways ‘ With reference to your representations in regard to the necessity for the provision of insulated trucks for the carriage of butter on the Auckland section, I have the honour to inform you that instructions have been given for the fitting up of a number of ‘ freezers ’ with receptacles for carrying ice, and these will he used for the carriage of butter. Instructions have also been given to build additional waggons of the same class with the utmost despatch, and it is confidently expected that these additional trucks will provide ample facilities for carrying the butter traffic iu a satisfactory manner.’
