THE GEORGIA MAGNET.
This world-renowned little lady will make two appearances only at the Volunteer Hall, in Hamilton, viz., next Thursday aud Friday. Our contemporary, the Auckland Herald, thus sums up the proformance :
The whole entertainment was unique, enjoyable and withal perplexing, and as Mr Abbey modestly declines to recognise either physical strength, hypotism, animal magnetism, or occult forces as beiDg the medium by which these astonishing feats are performed, the audience is left to investigate, theorise, or dispute at will, and to solve the problem themselves.
At the conclusion of last night's entertainment the members of the committee paid a compliment to Miss Abbott by signing the following testimonial: —" To Miss Annie May Abbott. Having acted upon your committee of investigation to night at the Opera House, and thoroughly tested your marvellous powers, puttingyouthroughall the wonderful tests that are claimed for you, we must, as a simple act of justice, admit that we are most agreeably surprised, and that you possess some power or force other than those making up the ordinary phenomena of nature, any unprejudiced man must admit. Just what your power is, we, like thousands ot others, are at a loss to determine Enough that it is marvellously wonderfully, entertaiuing and refined, presenting all the incredible feats advertised, and much more, and in such a manner as to preclude the possibility of trickery. To witness one of your entertainments is a treat to be enjoyed but once in a lifetime, —(Signed) F. T. Bayntun, J no. Chambers, D. Osmond Egan, Arthur H. Nathan, Gerhard Mueller, D. Ross, Charles Ranson, James Russell, \V. E. Arey, Chas. K. Purchas, H. T. Gorrio, Stephen Gilbert, J. H. Talbot Tubbs, 0. H. Haines, M.U., Isidor Alexander, George H. Rowley, Arthur J. lies, F. W. E. Dawson, Chas. M. JSelson, A. Osborne Knight, Danvers Hamber." Miss Abbott should have crowded houses, as it will be the only opportunity the public will have of seeing her.
