TE AWAMUTU TOWN BOARD.

A meeting of the Town Board was held on Thursduy evening last. The Commissioners present were Messrs J. L. Mandeno (Chairman), W. North, F. Gibson, and J. 13. Teasdale. Gkavelling.—The tenders received for gravelling the main Rangioah'n Road were considered too high.—The Chairman and Commissioner Teasdale were rtquested to attend to this matter. — It was decided to put a few loads of good gravel on the road neur the flourmill.

Sal* yards. Some discuesion took place with regard to the erection of new aalcyards in the town. Premier.—The following letter was received by tho Chairman from Hon. R. J. Seddon : "I have to acknowledge the receipt of the invitation forwarded l>y yourself and townsmen to me to visit Te Awamutu on the next occasion that I am in Auckland province and address the people in the Town Hall, and alto to meet you socially afterwards. I have much pleasure in saying that on my next visit to Auckland I shall be happy to comply with the requests therein contained, and have to thank you and the other gentlemen for the complimeut offered me."—The Clerk was instructed to write and thank the Premier, etc. Accounts.—The following accounts were passed for p yment:—Bearsley and Bygrave, £6 0s lOd ; Hall account, £2 17s 6d j Smith, 7a 6d ; pipes, 3s 6d.
