RANGIAOHIA ROAD BOARD.

The usual monthly meeting of the Ran giaohia Road Board was held on Saturday. There were present Messrs VV. H. Mandeno (chairman); Geo. McKinner ; Roger Kay and R. Burke. Gkavbllixg.—ln reply to a request made by the Board to the Te Awamutu Town Board to gravel a portion of the main road leading to Cambridge, the latter Board stated that tenders had been called for the work but were considered too high, and that their Chairman and Mr Teasdale were requested to attend to the matter.— The Chairman said it was rather a cool request that was made. Mr Teasdale asked him to stop the County Council teams travelling in order to do the Town Board work Dairy Inspection.—A circular; was received from the Department of Agricultuie re dairy inspectors.—The circular was received. Thirds.—An intimation was received from the Laud and Survey Department that £3 los 8d was due to the Board in connection with land situated on the Oliaupo road. The total amount nccrued to date amounts to £ls 13s lid, the expenditure of which was allowed to stand over for a time. • Balance.—The Chairman stated that balance-sheet as made up to 31st March, being the end of the fiuanoial year, showed a credit of £lll 9s 9d.— Mr McKiuder spoke of the satisfactory credit, and would like some of the water tables in his district cleared. —The Chairman stated that there was any amount of work and money, but no men. Vacancy. The retiring members under the Road Board Act are Messrs Mandeno (present Chairman) and M. Turney.—ln reply to a question the Chairman stated that he did not intend to seek re-election. He had had a long term of office. The members present hoped by the last day of nomination that the Chairman would change his mind, and enter into another term. Nominations close on 26th inst. Anndal Mektikg.- The annual meeting of ratepayers will be held at the Board's office on Saturday, 6th May, at 2 p.m. Accounts. —The following accounts were passed for payment : —Mountain Timber Company, £8 as lOd; Smith, ss; Teasdale, 18s.
