CHARITABLE BEQUESTS.
(by telegraph—press association). Auckland, Last Night. At the meeting of the Charitable Aid Board to-rlay, it was stated that Arthur Wood, a Whangarei settler, recently deceased, had bequeathed to the Auckland Asylum and Hospital the balance of his estate, after the payment of certain legacies. It is expected that the hospital will receive £2OOO, and the asylum a like sum. Deceased died suddenly at the Imperial Hotel in December last. Relth, a former employee of Woods, appeared before the Board, by counsel, and made a claim on the estate.
