HAMILTON WEST SCHOOL COMMITTEE.

A meeting of the Hamilton West School Committee was held ou Tuesday evening. There were present: —Dr. fioskhg (chairman), and Messr3 J. Andrew, W. Jones, VV. C. Castleton and E. J. White.

Exhibition.—Mr J. A. Young wrote apologising for his absence, and at the same time notifying the Committee that he had during a recent visit to Auckland, interviewed the Exhibition authorities regarding the proposed visit of school children to the Exhibition. The Railway Department was interesting itself in the matter and intended running school excursions after the holidays. The Exhibition authorities explained that they could not see their way clear to admit the children free, and that a charge of 3d would be made.

Education Board Election. • Circulars from the following candidates for election to the Board of Education were received :—Messrs Theo. Cooper, G. J. Garland, J. CT. Wright, A. McArthur, M.A., L.L.D., W. Leys and J. Blades. —The Committee decided to vote for Messrs Blades, Garland and McArthur. Picnic—lt was resolved to hold the annual school picnic on February 15th. Accounts Accounts amounting to £1 Is Sd were passed for payment.
