QUEENSLAND MURDERS

[united press association.] (by electric telegraph—copyright). Brisbane, January 12. A heavy fall of rain has further interfered with the police operations in connection with the Gatton murder case. The police have informed press representatives that things in connection with the case are more hopeful than at any time during their investigation. They expect very shortly to give important information.

The police have discovered something in a waterhole in the vicinity of the Gatton tragedy, which they state will have an important bearing on the case.
